Today Marks Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti: Honoring the 169th Birth Anniversary of Sri Narayana Gurudeva

Today marks the celebration of Gurudeva Jayanti, the 169th birth anniversary of Sri Narayana Gurudeva. The occasion will be observed with reverence globally. Events such as processions, special prayers, rituals, and public gatherings are planned at Sivagiri Mutt and affiliated Mutts under the guidance of SNDP Yogam and other Sree Narayana institutions. The Jayanti Mahasammelanam will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at 6:30 pm at Chempazhanthy Sree Narayana Gurukulam, Gurudev’s birthplace. Kadakampally Surendran MLA will be the presiding officer, and Swami Satchidananda, President of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust, will deliver the Jayanti message.

Vayalvaram House will host a special pooja and community prayer at 6 am. Opposition Leader VD Satheesan will launch the Sree Narayana Philosophical Conference at 10 am, with Swami Rithambarananda presiding. Thiru Jayanthi procession will commence at 3 pm, inaugurated by Minister V Sivankutty and presided over by VK Prashant MLA. Starting from Gurukulam at 4 pm, the procession will traverse through various routes, concluding at Gurukulam.

Sivagiri, the Mahasamadhi place of Gurudev, will also witness extensive celebrations. Swami Satchidananda will hoist the Dharma flag at 7:30 am, followed by Minister Mohammed Riyas inaugurating the Jayanti conference at 9:30 am. Swami Satchidananda will preside and deliver the Jayanti message. The proclamation procession will begin at 3 pm, preceding the Jayanthi procession that sets off from the Mahasamadhi at 4:30 pm. The Gurudeva rickshaw will be accompanied by Panchavadyam, ceremonial umbrellas, a chariot bearing the Gurudeva idol, decorated floats reflecting Gurudeva’s teachings, musical ensembles, and artistic performances.

Minister GR Anil will inaugurate the Jayanti meeting at the historic site of Aruvippuram, where Gurudev consecrated the Shiva image. The event, organized by the Math, will be presided over by Aruvippuram Math Secretary Swami Sandrananda.
