Kerala Leads in Advancing Knowledge Sector, Affirms CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Kerala’s Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, emphasized that the state is taking a prominent role in driving initiatives to foster the knowledge sector, a critical component for a nation’s progress. He made these remarks while addressing an audience during the distribution of the second Nava Kerala Post-Doctoral Fellowship by the Kerala State Higher Education Council.

The Nava Kerala Post-Doctoral Fellowship stands as evidence of the state government’s dedication to bolstering the knowledge sector. CM Vijayan highlighted that amidst decreasing public funding for research, Kerala remains distinctive by augmenting its funding.

The Chief Minister revealed that the latest state budget has allocated Rs 3,500 crore for research and development. The second phase of Nava Kerala fellowships has selected 68 researchers across 10 domains. In their first year, recipients will receive 50,000 per month, followed by 1 lakh per month in the second year. Additionally, officials disclosed that these researchers will also benefit from supplementary financial assistance of up to 2 lakh per year.
