Fatal Stabbing of Young Woman by Friend at Kochi Hotel; Suspect in Police Custody

Kochi: A tragic incident occurred in Kochi where a young woman was fatally stabbed by a friend at the Kaipilly Residency Oyo Hotel in Kaloor. The victim, Reshma, aged 22 and hailing from Changanassery, was attacked by Naushad, the OYO room caretaker from Kozhikode, who has been taken into police custody.

Naushad and Reshma had initially connected through social media and seemed to have a close relationship. Reshma had traveled to Kaloor to meet Naushad on the day of the incident. A heated argument between them escalated, leading Naushad to wield a knife and repeatedly stab Reshma in various parts of her body, ultimately causing a fatal injury to her neck.

The distressing situation was reported by another employee of the OYO hotel, prompting the police to arrive at the scene and apprehend Naushad. Despite having worked at the hotel for a number of years, the exact motive behind the murder remains unclear. Reshma’s body has been transported to the hospital, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for Thursday. Naushad is set to appear in court on Thursday morning.
