Rajinikanth Extends Best Wishes to “2018” Director Jude Anthany for Oscar Journey
Rajinikanth extended his best wishes to director Jude Anthany Joseph for India’s official Oscar entry, “2018 – Everyone is a Hero.” The film, a Malayalam multi-starrer depicting the events of the Kerala floods in 2018, has been chosen as India’s representative in the best international film category at the 2024 Academy Awards.

“2018 – Everyone is a Hero,” which hit theatres in May, tells the gripping tale of survival during the devastating Kerala floods. The film stars acclaimed actors like Tovino Thomas, Tanvi Ram, Kunchako Boban, and Aparna Balamurali. Notably, the movie achieved significant commercial success, crossing the remarkable milestone of Rs 200 crore at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing film in Malayalam cinema.
