Renowned Actor and Mimicry Artist Kalabhavan Haneef Passes Away at 63, Funeral Tomorrow

Renowned film actor and accomplished mimicry artist, Kalabhavan Muhammed Haneef, passed away on Thursday at the age of 63. Haneef had been undergoing treatment for respiratory issues at a private hospital in Kochi. He hailed from Mattancherry and is survived by his wife Waheeda and their two children, Sharooqu Haneef and Sithara Haneef.

Haneef’s artistic journey began in the world of drama, where he honed his skills and eventually became the main mimicry artiste of the Kalabhavan troupe. He made his entry into the film industry through mimicry, debuting in the movie “Cheppu Kilukkana Changathi.” He gained recognition for his comic roles, most notably his portrayal of a groom in the film “Parakkum Thalika.” Over the course of his career, Haneef appeared in more than 150 films and comedy shows. His last film, “Jaladhara Pump Set,” was released earlier this year.

The late actor will be laid to rest in his hometown of Mattancherry tomorrow. Fellow actor Tiny Tom paid tribute to Haneef on social media, reflecting the sentiments of the industry and fans mourning the loss of a talented artist.
