UAE Announces Eid al-Adha Holidays for Public and Private Sectors

The UAE has announced holidays for both public and private sector employees in observance of Eid al-Adha. The Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratisation stated that the holidays will span from June 15 to June 18. The celebration of Eid al-Adha was confirmed for June 16 following the sighting of the crescent moon marking the start of Dhul Hijjah in the Islamic calendar, 1445.

In all Gulf countries except Oman, Eid will be celebrated on June 16. Oman will observe the Feast of Sacrifice on June 17. Similarly, in Kerala, Bakrid will be celebrated on June 17. The date was determined based on the moon sighting at Kappad beach, with Islamic scholars and leaders in Kerala deciding to observe Dhul Hijjah on Saturday and celebrate Bakrid the following day.
