KSRTC Launches Affordable Driving School: Combo Classes for Rs 11,000

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched its first driving school in the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the facility at the KSRTC Swift centre in Anayara. The driving school offers training for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers at significantly lower fees compared to private driving schools.

The cost for a combined car and two-wheeler training course is Rs 11,000. Those opting only for car training will pay Rs 9,000, while two-wheeler classes alone cost Rs 3,500.

Chief Minister Vijayan announced that applicants from the Scheduled Tribe category can join the classes for free. KSRTC plans to establish 23 more driving schools across the state to challenge the dominance of private driving institutes. These schools will be located near KSRTC depots in all districts. For this initiative, KSRTC has acquired new vehicles, including a car, bike, and scooter.
