Additional Coaches Added to Daytime Trains in Kerala to Alleviate Rush

To address the growing rush and travel challenges on trains in Kerala, the Railway Minister V Abdurahiman chaired a significant meeting where it was decided to increase the number of coaches on daytime trains. This decision aims to alleviate the congestion and enhance passenger comfort during peak travel periods.

Key decisions from the meeting include extending the Shornur-Kannur passenger train up to Kasaragod, which is expected to improve connectivity and accommodate more passengers along the route. Additionally, the railways will assess the necessity for special trains to manage holiday rush periods upon government request.

Furthermore, an application will be submitted to the Railway Board to authorize a stop for the Raajdhani train in Malappuram district, potentially improving access and connectivity for passengers in the region.

The meeting was attended by prominent officials including Divisional Railway Manager Dr. Manish Thapliyal, Transport Secretary Biju Prabhakar, KRDCL Director Ajith Kumar V, and other senior railway representatives. These initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to enhance railway services in Kerala and meet the increasing demand for efficient and comfortable transportation options.
