Kerala to Experience Heavy Rainfall and Kallakkadal Phenomenon

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted isolated heavy rain in Kerala for the next three days, particularly affecting the northern districts. As a result, a yellow alert has been issued for Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts today. The IMD advises residents in these areas to remain vigilant and prepared for potential weather-related disruptions.

In addition, fishermen and coastal residents have been cautioned to stay alert due to the possibility of the ‘kallakkadal’ phenomenon along the Kerala and Tamil Nadu coasts until 11:30 pm on Friday. This natural occurrence can lead to sudden and dangerous sea level changes, making it essential for those in coastal areas to exercise extra caution during this period.
