Lulu Group Chairman Provides Rs. 1.20 Crore Assistance to Victims’ Families of Kuwait Fire Accident

M. A. Yusuff Ali, Chairman of Lulu Group, has extended financial support amounting to Rs 1.20 crore to families affected by the recent fire at Mangaf Labour Camp in Kuwait. The assistance, coordinated with NORKA, allocates Rs 5 lakh to each family. Joy Shadanandan, Regional Director of Lulu Group, formally handed over the contribution to Ajith Kolasseri, CEO of NORKA Roots, on behalf of M. A. Yusuff Ali.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, M. A. Yusuff Ali pledged continued support, with additional funds to be disbursed once NORKA finalises details of all deceased individuals involved in the tragedy. The fire, which broke out in Mangaf Block 4, claimed the lives of 49 people, including 24 Malayalis, and left 50 others injured. The blaze originated in the kitchen of a seven-story building housing 195 migrant workers, all employees of NBTC (Naser M Al Baddah & Partner Gen. Trading. & Contracting.Co.W.L.L.), a company owned by expatriate Malayali KG Abraham in Mangaf.
