Heavy Rain; Drinking water supply to be shut for 2 days in Bengaluru

Heavy Rain lashes in Bengaluru creates Chaotic situation. Due to the rain Drinking water supply will remain shut for two days in parts of Bengaluru. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) pumping station, which lifts millions of litres of water upwards to Bengaluru, is now submerged under the water.

Around 50 areas of rain-hit Bengaluru will not receive drinking water for the next two days. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will visit Water Supply Unit in Mandya. Officials are currently draining the water from the pumping station. A technical team is also present at the spot to restart the machine. The unit is crucial as Cauvery water is the major source of drinking water for Bengaluru.
