A single dose of AstraZeneca is enough to save lives and reduce the risk of death by 80%, the study reports
Even a single dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine is reported to be effective in preventing Kovid-19 disease. The UK Public Health Department said the study showed that those who took a single dose of AstraZeneca had a reduced mortality rate of 80% due to covid.
The new study found that those who received both doses had a 97 percent lower risk of death. The researchers also found that the Pfizer-biotech vaccine could reduce the mortality rate in covid patients.
The PHE said the study was based on data from AstraZeneca vaccine recipients. The study was conducted on Covid-19 victims from December 2020 to April 2021
In another data report, the PHE said that taking both doses of the Pfizer-Biotech vaccine could reduce the risk of hospitalization by 93 percent for those over 80 years of age.
