During an interaction with students at Sciences Po University in Paris, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi voiced his criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that their actions are not in harmony with the teachings of Hindu scriptures such as the Gita and Upanishads. The Congress party has shared a video of this conversation on their official platform.

Rahul Gandhi conveyed his perspective, stating, “I have studied the Gita, Upanishads, and various Hindu texts. The actions of the BJP do not align with the principles of Hinduism. Nowhere in any Hindu scripture have I come across an endorsement of intimidating or harassing the vulnerable. The label ‘Hindu nationalist’ is misleading; they do not represent genuine Hindu nationalism. Their actions are not rooted in Hinduism but rather driven by a quest for political power. They are not advocates of Hindu values.”
