Abu Dhabi Government Issues Special Guidelines for Vehicle Usage on Main Roads

The Abu Dhabi government has issued essential guidelines for residents regarding the usage of vehicles on the city’s main roads. On October 9, authorities released a warning pertaining to specific road restrictions that will be enforced collaboratively by the Abu Dhabi Police and the Road Transport Authority. These restrictions are applicable for one day only.

The notice specifies that certain crucial roads in the city will be temporarily restricted to special vehicles. Notably, buses carrying more than 50 passengers are prohibited from using Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, specifically from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, during the busy morning and evening hours on Monday. This restriction will be in effect solely on October 9, and it has been communicated to the public through a social media post.

The restricted hours are from 6:30 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 7 pm. This temporary limitation has been implemented with the aim of enhancing road safety and streamlining traffic flow in these crucial areas. The Abu Dhabi Police General Command has issued clear instructions, urging drivers not to travel during these specified hours and emphasizing strict adherence to traffic regulations.

Both the police and the transport authority have heightened their vigilance to identify and penalize individuals who violate this rule. Violators will face substantial fines, underlining the seriousness of adhering to these guidelines for the overall safety and convenience of all residents.
