‘Lollapalooza’ to Enchant Mumbai with Global Musical Extravaganza

Mumbai is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host ‘Lollapalooza 2024,’ one of the world’s most iconic music festivals, at the Mahalaxmi race course on January 27. The two-day event promises a rhythmic revolution, featuring headline performances by Korean pop band ‘The Rose’ and renowned artists like OneRepublic, Jonas Brothers, Sting, and more. With over 45 artists, including eight Grammy award winners, ‘Lollapalooza 2024’ aims to create a sonic tapestry that transcends boundaries, captivating over 60,000 music enthusiasts across its four stages. Ticket prices start at Rs 5999, offering options for General, VIP, and Nexa Launch categories, but the burgeoning airfares, reaching Rs 31,000 from Kerala to Mumbai on event days, pose a challenge.

Beyond the music, ‘Lollapalooza’ is poised to be a catalyst for tourism, shaping the way travelers engage with destinations. Last year, when Mumbai hosted the festival for the first time in Asia, 35% of the audience was from outside the city, according to ‘BookMyShow,’ one of the event partners. The grander affair this year includes a diverse musical lineup, ranging from pop and rock to hip-hop, indie, and EDM. ‘Lollapalooza’ promises not just electrifying beats but also a sensory haven with culinary delights and a vibrant world of fashion, offering attendees a harmonious convergence of music, food, and style.
