UAE Issues Special Warning to Citizens Amid Rising Theft Cases in Gulf Countries

The UAE authorities have issued a warning to citizens due to a surge in theft cases targeting Emirati travellers in various Gulf countries. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emirati travellers visiting countries like Spain, Georgia, Italy, the UK, France, and Austria have been victims of theft. In response, citizens are advised to exercise increased caution when visiting these countries. Recommended precautions include avoiding carrying valuables, keeping official documents at their place of residence, and using reputable global companies for hotel and taxi bookings.

The UAE also emphasized the importance of following travel guidelines for all destinations and advised citizens to register for the ‘Twajudi’ service. This warning is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety and security of its citizens abroad. Similar directives have been issued in the past during periods of heightened tensions in certain countries, advising citizens to avoid travel.
