Retired Kerala Government Employees Await Benefits One Month On

Around 15,000 retired Kerala State Government employees are still waiting to receive their benefits, even after a month of retirement. Most of these employees retired on May 31 and have not received insurance benefits, commutation, leave surrender, PF, and Death Come Retirement Gratuity (DCRG).

Employees are compulsorily enrolled in State Life Insurance and Group Insurance, with the insured amounts typically due before retirement. However, many retirees have not received sums such as Rs 1,00,000, Rs 50,000, or Rs 25,000. Enquiries at State Insurance district offices revealed that the allotment had not been made.

Retirees can surrender up to 300 leaves, but this amount has also not been paid. The process for PF benefits should have been completed months in advance, but when employees retire in large numbers, it can take up to a month to get permission from the AG office.
