The chairman of Kerala Congress M (Mani) – KM Mani passed away at 86

Thiruvananthapuram : KM Mani, the chairman of Kerala Congress (Mani) and the longest serving legislator in the state, died at a hospital in Kochi today. He was 86.

He was undergoing treatment for chest infection at a private hospital, and was reportedly admitted last Thursday.

Mr Mani has been a legislator of Pala assembly constituency for 50 consecutive years, since 1965.

KM Mani had also served as Kerala finance minister in the UDF government. He has presented budget 13 times in the Kerala Legislative Assembly and created history with this.

His Son Jose K Mani is also active in politics. It is the end of an era of politics.

He was always active in famous and infamous activities. The death of KM Mani will be a great loss for Kerala politics.
