Kerala Braces for Continued Rainfall: Coastal Alert Issued Amidst Developing Depressions

The Central Meteorological Department has forecasted the continuation of moderate rainfall in Kerala, with the possibility of isolated heavy rain in hilly regions. While no specific rain warnings have been issued for any district today, fishing activities have been prohibited along the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts due to anticipated strong winds and adverse weather conditions. Unlike Kerala, there are no restrictions on fishing along the coast of Karnataka.

Fishermen and coastal residents are urged to remain vigilant as high waves and storm surges are expected along the Kerala-South Tamil Nadu coast. The depression currently forming in the Arabian Sea is predicted to intensify into a severe depression by Saturday. Additionally, the Central Meteorological Department anticipates the formation of another depression in the Bay of Bengal by Friday, indicating the need for continued monitoring of weather conditions in the region.
