Multiple cylinder bomb in Lahore, several stores damaged days after explosion near Hafiz Saeed’s home.

Multiple cylinder blasts occurred in Pakistan’s Lahore’s Barkat Market, only days after a terror attack outside Jamaat-ud-Dawa chairman and UN-designated terrorist Hafeez Saeed’s apartment in the city killed three people and injured several more, according to ARY News.

According to rescuers, the gas cylinders blew up one by one at the market, making it impossible for anybody to approach the area. “So far, ten cylinders have exploded,” they claimed, adding that at least one individual has suffered burn injuries as a result of the incident. According to preliminary estimates, at least 12 vehicles and many shops were destroyed in the event, and adjoining establishments in the Barkat Market have been evacuated due to worries of future damage. The rescue, police, and district administration have roped off the area, and attempts are underway to extinguish the fire, according to reports. ARY News (Arabic)

Cylinder explosions are common in the country, owing primarily to the usage of poor materials.

A massive blast last week in Pakistani city Johar Town near criminal mastermind Hafiz Saeed’s residence killed three people and injured 24, including a police constable. Following the incident, an auto mechanic was arrested on Saturday for his role in the blast. According to sources, intelligence authorities apprehended the mechanic for tampering with the interiors of the car used in the blast.

Hafiz Saeed’s home was unharmed, but many other homes and businesses within a 100-square-foot radius of the blast location were destroyed. Meanwhile, a Pakistani journalist stated that Hafiz Saeed was at home when the bomb detonated and was the intended target of the strike. “Hafiz Saeed is a high-value target, and we have learned that the jail department monitors his location,” journalist Amjad Saeed Sahani stated on Dawn’s Zaara Hut Kay.

“Any facility can be declared a sub-jail by the jail superintendent.” “Hafiz Saeed was present at his apartment, according to our information.” “His family denies this, but Saeed was the intended victim of this attack,” Sahani stated.
