International Hockey Stadium in Kollam to be COVID-19 hospital
The International Hockey Stadium in Kollam, will now act as a COVID-19 hospital. This decision is due to increased pandemic cases.
Many are returning to Kerala from other states and a lot of these people are carriers of the virus. Kollam Collector B. Abdul Nassar has ordered for the immediate setting up of necessary facilities.
The plan is to make use of the available infrastructure in the stadium for the hospital. Lack of availability of water was a major issue. A bore-well was sunk on Tuesday.
There are 14 rooms available in the stadium. 6 prefabricated rooms (containing 3 rooms each) and toilet facilities for 80 people are available.
