After her ex-husband threw acid on her, a TVM woman suffered burn injuries

Thiruvananthapuram: S Lakshmi, a 32-year-old woman from Njaramood in Thiruvananthapuram, suffered burns after her second husband threw acid on her body. She suffered burns to her head, hands, and stomach.

Lakshmi divorced her husband four years ago and was living with her two children and her second husband, Biju, a Chowalloor native. They eventually split up, and Lakshmi and her children relocated to her Maruthamkuzhi home.

Her second husband requested that she return the ornaments to the house on Wednesday. Lakshmi and her children arrived at the house in an auto-rickshaw. According to the woman’s statement to police, Biju took her alone to a room, thrashed her, and poured acid over her body. To preserve rubber sheets, the acid was kept in the house.

Meanwhile, the woman is being treated at a medical school. Biju is on the run, and police believe he will be apprehended soon. Biju will be arrested soon, according to Vilappilsala station house officer Aneesh Kareem.
