Man Surrenders, Claims Responsibility for Kalamassery Explosion: Investigation Underway
In a shocking turn of events following the explosions at a religious conference in Kalamassery, a man named Dominic Martin has surrendered to the police, claiming he is responsible for the blast that tragically claimed the life of an unidentified woman and left several others injured. The surrender occurred at the Kodakara Police Station in Thrissur Rural, sending shockwaves through the community.
ADGP (law and order) MR Ajith Kumar confirmed the surrender, stating, “One person has surrendered in Kodakara Police Station, in Thrissur Rural, claiming that he has done it. His name is Dominic Martin. He claims that he belongs to the same religious group. We are verifying it. We are looking into all aspects of this case… All concerned agencies, including central agencies, are in place, and we are looking into it…”
A video purportedly featuring Martin confessing to the Kalamassery explosions has surfaced on social media. However, there is currently uncertainty regarding whether the individual in police custody is the same person seen in the video.
In response to these developments, the religious group involved, Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW), has distanced itself from Martin, stating they have no association with him. JW acknowledged that a person by the same name had approached them in the past, but they cannot confirm if it is the same individual currently in custody.
