Onam recipe: Palada payasam

Onam is a very favourite festival of Keralites. And first thing comes in our mind when we think about onam is Onasadya which cannot be complete without a payasam. Here is a recipe of tasty palada payasam.

INGREDIENTS

Rice ada (readymade) – 1/2 cup heaped

Milk – 1 litre

Sugar – 1 cup

Cardamom – 1

Cashew nuts

Ghee

Preparation

Take 1/2 cup rice ada, wash and drain the water

Boil 1 cup water and soak the ada in it for 15 mins.

Onam recipe: Tasty Aviyal

Boil milk with a cup of water and add the soaked ada.  Heating it over medium flame with constant stirring to avoid burnt bottom.

When milk turns cream coloured and thick, add sugar and mix well to dissolve it

Roast cashew nuts in ghee until golden and put it to the payasam along with powdered cardamom. Bring to boil

Serve hot.
