Discovery of Stones and Damaged Water Closet on Railway Track Sparks Investigation in Kasaragod

A stone and a damaged water closet were discovered on the railway track near Kottikulam in Kasaragod. The incident took place close to the Chembarika tunnel on the Kannur-Kasaragod route at around noon yesterday. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter. Dr. Vaibhav Saxena, the District Police Superintendent, confirmed that investigations are underway, but no further details are available. The incident occurred while the Coimbatore-Mangaluru intercity train was in motion, and the train’s operator noticed a collision with an object. The railway station master in Kasaragod was alerted about the situation. Subsequently, railway police and Melparamp police inspected the track and discovered the stone and a fragment of the damaged water closet. A portion of the broken water closet was also found in a nearby residence. Similar incidents involving stone-throwing at trains, including the Vande Bharat express between Thalassery and Mahi, have been reported in recent days on the Kannur-Kasaragod route.
