Confusion in Kannur Corporation Over Nava Kerala Sadas Complaints

Kannur Municipal Corporation is grappling with a surge of 576 complaints mistakenly forwarded to its office during the Nava Kerala Sadas initiative. Officials are puzzled by the diverse range of grievances, many of which fall outside the Corporation’s jurisdiction. Complaints related to house construction under the LIFE Mission scheme, welfare pension delays, and KSRTC bus routes have inundated the office. The confusion highlights the need for streamlined processes to ensure that public grievances are directed to the appropriate authorities during such initiatives.

Despite the influx of complaints, the government has only resolved 133 out of 28,801 grievances received in Kannur district through the Nava Kerala Sadas program. This discrepancy underscores the importance of efficient handling and categorization of complaints to ensure prompt and effective resolution, avoiding unnecessary burden on municipal offices with unrelated concerns.
