Supplyco Christmas Sales Set to Begin with Rs 180 Crore Allocation

Despite the financial challenges faced by the state, Supplyco Christmas sales are set to proceed, bringing relief to consumers anticipating the annual event. Earlier concerns about the sales arose as suppliers had been hesitant to provide food items to the civil supplies corporation due to payment issues. However, the finance department’s allocation of Rs 180 crores has paved the way for the commencement of sales next week. The decision comes amid a backdrop of increasing prices in the open market, prompting a strong demand for the timely initiation of Supplyco Christmas sales.

The allotted funds will address pending payments to suppliers, amounting to approximately Rs 600 crores over the past year. The Christmas sales are scheduled to take place in key districts, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode. As the nodal agency for ration distribution, Supplyco’s Christmas sales play a significant role in meeting consumer demands and are eagerly awaited by the public. The finance department’s support ensures that the civil supplies corporation can proceed with the festive sales, providing essential food items to the people.
