Priyadarshan appears to have remade yet another Malayalam film for Bollywood. It’s the Mohanlal classic Minnaram this time.

The trailer for Hungama 2 is out, and fans can’t stop comparing it to scenes from the 1994 Malayalam film Minnaram. In the lead roles are Meezaan Jaffrey and Pranitha Subhash, Parish Rawal, and Shilpa Shetty.

The trailer also includes a remixed version of the 1990s hit song Chura Ke Dil Mera Goriya Chali, which was originally sung by Shilpa Shetty and Akshay Kumar. Shilpa returns to Bollywood after a 13-year absence with ‘Hungama 2.’

‘Hungama 2’ will be available on OTT on July 23.

Priyadarshan previously revealed in an interview with PTI that he had offered the film to Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan. “I didn’t go directly to meet them, but I told a lot of actors about my concept, including Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan, and Siddharth Malhotra. They all refused to participate in the film. I’m currently working with Meezaan. They all refused because they might have thought I was an out-of-date director because I had been out of the Hindi film industry for five years,” Priyadarshan told PTI last year.

‘Hungama 2,’ a Venus Records and Tapes LLP project, is also produced by Ganesh Jain, Chetan Jain, and Armaan Ventures.
