After 132 days, India has recorded fewer than 30,000 new COVID-19 cases

New Delhi: After 132 days, India had registered less than 30,000 new COVID-19 cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (July 27, 2021). The country has had 29,689 infections in the last 24 hours, and the active coronavirus caseload has now dropped below 4,000 after 124 days. The active case count presently stands at 3,98,100, accounting for 1.27 percent of all cases.

According to the Health Ministry, the national weekly positivity rate is now at 2.33 percent, while the daily positivity rate is at 1.73 percent.

Between Monday and Tuesday morning, there were 415 coronavirus-related fatalities and 42,363 recoveries. As a result, the total number of fatalities has risen to 4,21,382, while more than 3.06 crore people have been rescued thus far.

On the other hand, total immunization coverage has surpassed 44.19 crores. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 2.28 crore balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses are still accessible for administration in states, UTs, and private institutions.

Meanwhile, the overall global COVID-19 caseload has surpassed 195 million, with a mortality toll of more than 4.18 million, according to research from Johns Hopkins University. With 35,287,269 infections and 6,27,039 deaths, the United States remains the world’s worst-affected country, followed by India, Brazil, Russia, and France.
