Malayalam Director Siddique Passes Away at 63

Malayalam director Siddique has sadly passed away at the age of 63. He was hospitalized at Amrita Hospital in Kochi last month due to liver issues. Tragically, Siddique suffered a heart attack on Monday and was put on ECMO support, but he couldn’t be saved and passed away on Tuesday during treatment.

Siddique is survived by his wife Sajitha and their three children, Sumaya, Sara, and Sukoon. In response to his deteriorating health, various film industry figures, including his frequent collaborator Lal, actors Sidhique and Rahman, singer MG Sreekumar, and FEFKA’s B Unnikrishnan, visited him in the hospital.

Director Major Ravi also visited and provided an update on Siddique’s condition, stating that he had breathing difficulties and elevated creatine levels. Despite Siddique’s initially stable condition, he suffered a heart attack that ultimately led to his passing. Siddique had a cheerful encounter with Major Ravi at an event three months prior, and doctors are in communication with his family during this trying time.

Siddique’s illustrious career began with assisting legendary filmmaker Fazil after being noticed by him during their performances with the Cochin Kalabhavan’s mimicry group. He went on to become one of the most celebrated directors in Malayalam cinema history.
