Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents have been ‘forced to live in a one-Bedroom house’ with the father vowing to “fight until the end”
New Delhi: Late television actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents are in financial trouble following their daughter’s untimely death and have opened up about their situation. Her father, Shankar Banerjee, revealed that they are forced to live in a one-bedroom apartment because they lost everything following Pratyusha’s death.
Pratyusha Banerjee’s father, Shankar Banerjee, stated in an interview with Aaj Tak Hindi, “After this (Pratyusha’s death) accident, it appears as if a huge storm came and took everything away from us. We didn’t have a single penny on us. While fighting the second case, we lost everything.”
“Pratyusha was our only source of assistance. We were taken to the heights by her, and now we’re back down. We are now confined to a single room. This case took everything away from us, and we were forced to take out loans several times “According to her father’s statement to the Hindi portal.
Shankar Banerjee revealed that her mother is currently working in a child care centre while he is writing stories to make ends meet. “We are facing a financial crisis, but we are not giving up hope. I will fight until my last breath for my daughter Pratyusha and seek justice for her.”
With ‘Balika Vadhu,’ Pratyusha Banerjee became an overnight sensation. She died on April 1, 2016, leaving behind a bereaved family, friends, and fans. The actress’s body was discovered hanging in her Mumbai apartment. She also appeared on Bigg Boss 7 alongside Kamya Punjabi and Gauahar Khan.
Her parents, Shankar and Soma, reportedly filed a FIR with the local police station in Mumbai alleging that Rahul Raj, who was in a live-in relationship with their daughter, mentally and emotionally tortured her and drove her to suicide. TV actress Kamya Panjabi and producer Vikas Gupta backed her parents.
The Bombay High Court, however, granted Rahul anticipatory bail three months after Pratyusha’s death.
He claimed that they planned to marry in December 2016, but Pratyusha was “deeply disturbed and frustrated” because of her parents’ “constant interference.”
