Breaking News: Kozhikode train fire accused remanded till April 28

Kozhikode Train fire case, accused Shahrukh Saifi (24) is remanded till April 28. He set fire to the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express on Sunday night, has been killed three people including a child and injuring many people. The magistrate court on Friday remanded the accused.

Earlier in the day, the magistrate arrived at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital as part of carrying out the remand procedures of Saifi, who was diagnosed with jaundice and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

So far, the accused has undergone CT scans, blood tests and X-rays followed by a medical examination at the ortho, neuro and medicine departments. The police also took him to the forensic medicine department to collect samples of his DNA, hair, blood and skin.
