An official with the Mumbai police department said on Friday that a head constable who had been assigned as megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s bodyguard since 2015 had been transferred amid reports of him allegedly earning Rs 1.5 crore per year.
According to the official, the head constable, Jitendra Shinde, has been transferred to D B Marg Police Station in South Mumbai as part of a routine transfer. He was transferred 15 days ago, and it was officially announced in a police notice at the time, he said.
According to a recent media report, Shinde earned Rs 1.5 crore per year while working as the superstar’s bodyguard.
According to police sources, Shinde is one of Bachchan’s trusted bodyguards and may be seen with him as part of his security detail.
They claim Shinde’s wife owns a company that provides security guards to celebrities.
According to the sources, the state government was also checking to see if Shinde had provided the police department with information about his assets.
