Films Salman Khan rejected that turned biggest hits in Indian film industry

Actor Salman Khan has been in the Tinsel town for more than three decades now. During his glorious journey, the actor starred in a number of films some great, some good and some outright bland. Salman have rejected many films due to a variety of reasons. We take a look at the notable ones.

Ghajini

Gajini was the first Hindi film ever to cross the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office. The movie was supposed to star Salman. Reportedly, Aamir Khan had himself recommended Salman’s name after reading the script. It is not known as to how he ended up playing the lead himself. The film also marked the Bollywood debut of South actress Asin.

Chak De! India

Chak De! India first offered to Salman. But, due to unavailability of dates, the actor could not take up the role and it was passed on to Shah Rukh Khan. The film had not only done well at the box office but was also appreciated by film critics.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Salman rejected Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, possibly the biggest turning point of Shah Rukh Khan’s film career. The romantic drama, starring Kajol as the female lead, had marked the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra. It ran in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre for over 1200 weeks.

Baazigar

Baazigar  was first offered to Salman. Directors Abbas-Mustan had reportedly approached him but he declined the offer and it started era of Shah Rukh Khan in Indian film industry
