Drug bust on a cruise ship: Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and seven others are being held in NCB custody until October 4th

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and seven others on Sunday in connection with the seizure of prohibited drugs onboard a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.

An NCB official identified the arrested suspects as Munmun Dhamecha, Arbaaz Merchant, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Sarika, and Vikrant Chhokar, in addition to Aryan Khan.

Aryan Khan, Dhamecha, and Merchant appeared before a metropolitan magistrate’s court here earlier in the day, and were remanded in NCB custody until October 4.
He added that after their medical examinations, all eight accused will be brought before the court on Monday.

Aryan Khan has been charged under sections 27 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (punishment for consuming any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance), 8C (produce, manufacture, possess, sell, or purchase of drugs), and other relevant provisions (NDPS).

NCB sleuths detained him and seven others late Saturday night after raiding the cruise ship on its way from Mumbai to Goa.
According to the NCB’s arrest memo, 13 grammes of cocaine, five grammes of MD, 21 grammes of charas, 22 pills of Ecstasy, and Rs 1.33 lakh were seized following the raid.

Based on a tip that a party was planned on the ship, an NCB team led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede raided the Goa-bound ship on Saturday evening and recovered drugs from some of the passengers, according to an NCB official.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the cruise line stated that it had nothing to do with the incident.

“Cordelia Cruises has no connection to this incident, either directly or indirectly.” Cordelia Cruises had chartered its ship to a Delhi-based event management company for a private event. Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt Ltd’s Chief Executive Officer and President, Jurgen Bailom, said in a statement.

Cordelia Cruises has stated that it is extending its full support and cooperating with the authorities.
