Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 35 PSA oxygen plants to the nation in Uttarakhand

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Uttarakhand’s Devbhoomi on Thursday (October 7, 2021) to dedicate 35 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants across India.

Prior to his visit, Prime Minister Modi stated that the oxygen plants are “vital healthcare infrastructure.” “I would be in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand tomorrow, 7th October,” the prime minister said on Twitter. 35 PSA Oxygen Plants would be dedicated to the nation across various states and UTs. This is critical healthcare infrastructure for the greater good.”

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation 35 PSA oxygen plants established under PM CARES in 35 states and union territories. The event will take place today at 11 a.m. at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

The event will also be attended by Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, according to the release.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), with the commissioning of these 35 PSA oxygen plants, all districts in the country will now have PSA oxygen plants.

Until now, a total of 1,224 PSA oxygen plants have been funded under PM CARES across the country, with over 1,100 plants now operational and producing over 1,750 MT of oxygen per day.

More than 7,000 people have been trained to ensure the operation and maintenance of these plants. According to PMO, they include an embedded Internet of Things (IoT) device for real-time monitoring of their functionality and performance via a consolidated web portal.
