Tamil Nadu Friends Strike with Rs 25 Crore Onam Bumper Lottery Win

Four individuals from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, have struck it rich by winning the first prize of the Onam bumper lottery, which is worth a whopping Rs 25 crore, according to the Kerala State Lottery Department. These fortunate friends, identified as Pandyaraj, Natarajan, Kuppuswami, and Ramaswami, jointly purchased the winning ticket and presented it to the lottery department in Thiruvananthapuram. They have opted to keep their identities confidential, and it’s been reported that they are currently residing in Thiruvananthapuram. The winning ticket, bearing the number TE 230662, was one of three tickets purchased in Palakkad’s Walayar on September 18. After deducting a 30% income tax (Rs 6.75 crore) and a 10% agency commission (Rs 2.5 crore), the first-prize winner will receive approximately Rs 15.75 crore. The Thiruvonam Bumper, priced at Rs 500 per ticket, offers the country’s largest lottery prize of Rs 25 crore.
