Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Visits Blast Site and Injured Victims at Kalamassery Medical College

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accompanied by a delegation of ministers including K Rajan, Roshy Augustine, P Rajeev, Veena George, and Hibi Eden MP, visited the site of the tragic blasts at Zamra International Convention Centre in Kalamassery. The Chief Minister and his team expressed their condolences and support to the victims of the incident, where three lives were lost and several others sustained injuries.

Following their visit to the convention centre, the Chief Minister and other leaders proceeded to Kalamassery Medical College Hospital, where the injured are currently receiving medical treatment. Their visit aimed to provide solace and assurance to the victims and their families during this challenging time. Additionally, the leaders planned to extend their visit to other hospitals where the injured from the incident have been admitted.

The devastating incident occurred at approximately 9:40 am on Sunday when a series of blasts rocked the convention centre. Kochi resident Dominic Martin claimed responsibility for the attack and subsequently surrendered himself to the police, shedding light on the identity of the perpetrator.

In a concerted effort to maintain social harmony and discourage the spread of misinformation, an all-party meeting convened at the conference hall in the Secretariat complex. During the meeting, political representatives unanimously resolved to appeal to the public, urging them to refrain from engaging in baseless accusations, speculative campaigns, or rumor-mongering related to the blasts. The collective aim is to promote unity, understanding, and a sense of security within the community in the aftermath of this tragic incident.
