Recreational boat sinks in Thooval Theeram in Tanur; two died

A recreational boat sank at Ottumpuram Thooval Theeram on the Parappanangadi-Tanur municipal boundary, resulting in two deaths including a woman and a child. The boat was carrying about 35 passengers, and eight people have been rescued so far.

However, many of the rescued individuals are in critical condition. The accident reportedly occurred around 7 pm, and the rescue operation is still ongoing. Most of the passengers on the boat were from the Parappanangadi and Tanur regions, and the beach was crowded due to the holiday.

The rescued individuals have been admitted to hospitals such as Nahas and JS Mission in Parappanangadi, Tirurangadi taluk hospital, and various hospitals in Tanur.
