Man Arrested for Smuggling Gold Worth Rs 50 Lakh Concealed in Rectum at Kochi Airport

A man has been apprehended by Cochin Customs at Kochi airport for attempting to smuggle around 1,060 grams of gold worth Rs 50 lakh. The individual, identified as Nizamuddin from Malappuram, concealed the gold in his rectum as he arrived from Jeddah via Kuwait. Cochin Customs successfully thwarted this gold smuggling attempt and seized the hidden gold capsules. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Nizamuddin, who had worked as a driver in Jeddah for 13 years, turned to gold smuggling to cover the costs of his mother’s dialysis treatment.
