Prominent CPM Figure Sarojini Balanandan Passes Away

Sarojini Balanandan, a former member of the CPM state committee, has passed away at the age of 86 in her daughter’s residence on Tuesday. She was the spouse of the late E Balanandan, a former member of the CPM politburo.

Sarojini held the position of state president in the All India Democratic Women’s Association (Aidwa). In 1996, she contested in the legislative assembly elections. From 1980 to 1985, she also served as the president of the Kalamassery panchayat. Her involvement with the CPM state committee spanned from 1985 to 2012. She leaves behind three daughters and a son.
