Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in Kerala, all liquor shops, including toddy shops and beer parlours, have been ordered to shut from today at 6 pm until Friday at 6 pm. This closure comes in preparation for the voting process in 20 constituencies scheduled for April 26. Additionally, as per the official directive, liquor shops will also remain closed on June 4, the day of vote counting. The decision mirrors similar measures taken in Mahe, an enclave of Puducherry within Kerala, where liquor shops and restaurants serving alcohol will be shut from April 24 to 26, aligning with the electoral process in the region.
