Nationwide Bank Strike Announced for December

The All India Bank Employees Association (AEBEA) has declared a nationwide strike that will last for six days, from December 4th to 11th. The strike is set to affect both public and private banks, with workers from each bank participating in the unique strike action.

Bank employees cite excessive workloads as a major concern, claiming that their requests for additional staff to alleviate the workload have not been addressed by higher-ups. Additionally, the workers are demanding an end to the practice of appointing outsourced workers to permanent positions.

Initially scheduled for November 13th, the lightning strike was postponed to December to allow more time for negotiations and discussions. The industrial action reflects the growing dissatisfaction among bank employees regarding their working conditions and the need for reforms in the sector.
