Government Allocates Rs 90 Crores to KSRTC for October Pension and Salary Settlement

The government has approved the allocation of Rs 90 crores to the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to facilitate the disbursement of salary and pension. Of this, Rs 70 crores will be earmarked for settling the October pension dues, while the remaining Rs 20 crores will constitute the second instalment of the salary for the same month. The funds are expected to be credited by Monday.

The High Court has issued a directive for the settlement of pension arrears by November 30, emphasizing that failure to meet this deadline will require the Chief Secretary to provide an explanation to the court. To cover the full October salary, an additional Rs 37 crores is required. In conjunction with the government’s sanctioned Rs 20 crores, an additional Rs 12 crores will be obtained through a bank overdraft, with KSRTC expected to cover the remaining amount.
