No Concession for Public Vehicles at Toll Plazas: Nitin Gadkari

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has declared that there will be no concession granted to public vehicles, including those operated by KSRTC, at toll plazas on national highways. The minister’s response came during a discussion in Rajya Sabha, where he specified that exemptions would only be applicable to certain vehicles utilized for official purposes and those accompanying VIPs. Gadkari further highlighted that toll collection would persist at a rate of 40 percent even after the recovery of the entire construction cost of the road, and the collected funds would not be shared with the states but directed to the consolidated fund of the central government.
