Maruti Suzuki Increases Prices of Swift and Grand Vitara Variants

Maruti Suzuki, the leading car manufacturer in India, has announced a price hike for its popular hatchback, the Swift, along with certain variants of its sport-utility vehicle, the Grand Vitara. The price increase comes as a response to various factors affecting the automobile industry.

According to a statement released by the company, the prices of the Swift have been raised by up to Rs 25,000. Similarly, only the Sigma variant of the Grand Vitara will see a price increase of Rs 19,000.

This adjustment in prices follows Maruti Suzuki’s previous price hike in January, where the entire product range witnessed an average increase of 0.45%. It reflects the company’s efforts to manage rising input costs and other operational expenditures.

Maruti Suzuki’s decision to raise prices aligns with similar actions taken by other automobile manufacturers. Last month, Kia India announced a price increase of up to 3% across its product lineup due to higher input costs. Similarly, Toyota Kirloskar Motor also revealed plans to hike prices by up to 1% on specific variants of select models.

These price adjustments are common in the automobile industry, typically occurring at the beginning of the calendar or fiscal year. Manufacturers evaluate market demand and commodity prices to determine the need for such changes.

As the industry navigates various challenges and cost pressures, consumers can expect to see periodic adjustments in vehicle prices from different manufacturers.
