Transition to Online Services: Impact of AICTE Regional Centre Closure on Kerala Colleges

The closure of regional centers by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and its complete transition to online operations have posed challenges for colleges in Kerala. With all processes, including program approval, annual renewal, fee payments, and submission of faculty and student details, now mandated to be conducted online, colleges are grappling with technical issues without the assistance of regional centers. AICTE, which primarily oversees engineering, architecture, and catering colleges, has extended its approval requirements to include colleges offering BBM, BCA, and BMS programs.

The absence of regional centers, which previously provided crucial support to colleges in various states, including Kerala, has left institutions without the on-ground assistance they once relied on, creating hurdles in adapting to the online system efficiently.
