WhatsApp Beta Testing New Camera Zoom Control and Sticker Creation Shortcuts

WhatsApp is introducing two exciting features to its beta testers on iOS, enhancing the functionality of the popular messaging platform. The first feature addresses a common inconvenience by introducing a new zoom control function for the in-app camera. This update includes a dedicated zoom button, providing users with a more intuitive way to adjust their camera zoom settings while capturing images or recording videos within WhatsApp. Previously, users had to rely on pinch gestures or swipe gestures, which were not as straightforward as having a dedicated zoom button. This enhancement is expected to simplify the camera experience for all users once it rolls out to both iOS and Android smartphones.

Another noteworthy addition is the introduction of shortcuts for creating stickers directly from the Camera Roll or using Meta AI to generate stickers. With these shortcuts, users can easily create custom stickers from their own photos or utilize Meta’s artificial intelligence service to generate stickers automatically. These shortcuts streamline the sticker creation process, offering users more flexibility and creativity when personalizing their conversations. These features are currently available to beta testers on iOS and are anticipated to be made available to all users across iOS and Android platforms in the near future.
