KSRTC Budget Tours: Explore Gavi, Marayoor, Vattavada, and More

Following a recent heatwave, tourism in the state is experiencing a resurgence, with KSRTC’s budget-friendly travel options gaining popularity among travelers. Trips to rural areas in Idukki, particularly sought after for their relief from the summer heat, have seen significant interest. Budget tours have commenced from seven depots in the district since late April, generating revenue of Rs 4 lakh in April from four depots. Although demand was lower in March due to hot weather and school exams, bookings for the Chathurangapara trip, offering picturesque views of Munnar and Tamil Nadu, have been particularly high.

New services to Gavi have also commenced, with dates scheduled in May from various locations. Tickets from the Changanassery depot have already sold out. Additionally, budget tours to Marayoor, Malakkapara, Vattavada, and other destinations are available from different depots. A special mega trip from Kottayam on May 16 includes a thrilling cruise in Kochi aboard the luxury boat Nefertiti, operated by the Kerala Inland Navigation Corporation.

Nefertiti, a three-story luxury cruise vessel equipped with modern safety features, offers a five-hour sea voyage with meals included at a cost of Rs 3500 per person. Moreover, leisure trips to tourist spots in Palakkad district are planned during the Onam season. For bookings, contact the respective depots listed below.
