Hajj Season Begins: First Flights Departing from Karipur on May 21

The Hajj season is set to commence with the departure of the first batch of pilgrims from Karipur on Tuesday, May 21. Around 166 pilgrims are scheduled to fly to Jeddah on an Air India flight departing at 12:05 a.m. and arriving at 3:50 a.m. Following this, two more flights are scheduled at 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The State Hajj Committee has issued instructions for the pilgrims, with reporting times set for each batch. Facilities have been arranged at the Hajj camp and the airport for the convenience of the pilgrims.

Air India Express has planned a total of 59 flights from Karipur to Hajj, with three flights operating daily. Additional flights have been scheduled, including four on June 8, and one before June 9 for waitlisted pilgrims.

In Kochi, the Hajj camp will commence on May 25, with the first flight departing on May 26. Similarly, operations in Kannur will begin on May 31, with flights scheduled from June 1. Saudi Airlines will operate services from both Kochi and Kannur.

A significant number of flights are expected from Kochi and Kannur, with a total of 17,883 pilgrims from Kerala traveling for Hajj this year through the State Hajj Committee. The return journey for these pilgrims is scheduled from July 1 to 22 via the Medina route.
